Loved the second photo. How beautifully, you've captured the wind.

Those pictures are beautiful. I hope you win, good luck!

This gave me a good idea. The smoke tree would make a good windblown subject. I am not going to enter one, but it would make a nice photo. Well, good luck, you have a nice entry.

Thanks Anita & Masha, I posted the first picture just to show the context. The weigela, wisteria and cherry blossom tree in my garden form a frame through which I gaze at the tree over the wall.

Thanks Donna - I didn't know it was called a smoke tree - I'll be interested to see your take on it. According to the competition guidelines you're supposed to use time lapse etc, blurring to show motion. I just set my camera on Auto and clicked away till I had over a hundred photos. There were pictures with more impressive bending of the branches, but in those cases the branches moved out of the frame, so I had to compromise.

That's some nice captures. Over a hundred photos? :) This time I'm giving it a miss. All the best to you.

Great job, good set up.

I do not aspire to photo contests. I use my pics to illustrate my blog and amuse my readers.

I hope you win.

Thanks One - I'm on a mission to show that you don't need a fancy camera or gadgets to take good photos, but I do have to take loads of them because I don't have much control over the focussing. When I was younger I didn't enter competitions because I was afraid of failing. I'm more carefree these days ... I look forward to seeing your entry next time.

Thanks Nell Jean - I don't aspire to photo contests either ... I approach it as linking up to a meme like GBBD or Blooming Friday, it's just a way of getting out there and joinng in the fun. Actually, I didn't intend to link up to GGW but I saw Donna's post http://gardenwalkgardentalk.com/2011/06/20/ggw-motion-blur-at-niagara-falls/ earlier in the week so I had the title in mind, then I saw that tree being caught by the wind ....

That plant is lovely, looks very feminine. Maybe i am the first one to say 'feminine tree', yes that shows motion too!

Andrea - I know what you mean, the pink, feathery tips of the branches and the graceful movement. It is a very ladylike tree!

Great picture b-a-g, good luck with it. Cotinus does grow here in Aberdeen but they never develop those gorgeous flowering plumes.
